THE INFLUENCE OF COMPETENCE AND ENGAGEMENT ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE THROUGH LEADERSHIP STYLE AT STATE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN MAKASSAR CITY

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of competence, engagement, on teacher performance through leadership styles at public junior high schools in Makassar City. The research approach used in this research is quantitative research. The research was conducted at the State Junior High School in Makassar City with a population of 422 teachers and the technique of determining the number of samples in this study based on the Slovin formula, a sample of 121 people. The analysis used is parth line analysis by using the t test hypothesis test.

The results showed that Teacher Competence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance through the Principal's Leadership Style at Makassar City Public Junior High School, where the tcount is 6.471> 1.982 as well as Teacher Attachment has a positive and significant effect on performance through the Principal's Leadership Style of Makassar City Public Junior High School. where the tcount is 5.812> 1.982.  

From the results of the study it can be concluded that competence and attachment and always pay attention to the competence and attachment of teachers to improve teacher performance
